Jonathan Beyer Named New Bowling Head Coach at DBU

DBU Athletics announced the hiring of Jonathan Beyer as the program's new Head Bowling Coach on Monday. Beyer started with the DBU Bowling team as a volunteer assistant last season.

A native of Dallas, Texas, Beyer was raised in a city known for its competitive bowling culture. Beyer started his bowling career at age 11. Between the ages of 11 and 18, he trained under his father, Dallas area bowler and high school coach Dan Beyer. During high school, he was a three-time All-District Qualifier, three-time Regional Qualifier, and two-time State Qualifier. Upon graduating from Plano West Senior High School, Beyer joined the inaugural bowling team at Oklahoma Christian University in 2018.

At the collegiate level, Beyer was named a Collegiate Scholar-Athlete three times by the National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association. He was recognized for exceptional sportsmanship and unwavering dedication. Beyer left a mark on OC Bowling's history and the hearts of fellow competitors, which has earned him the respect and admiration of the bowling community.

Beyer holds a Bachelor's Degree (BBA) in Technology-Mediated Marketing and a Master's Degree (MBA) in Marketing Management earned from Oklahoma Christian University in 2022. At Oklahoma Christian, Beyer was named to the President's List, Honor Roll, and Dean's List multiple times, and was a finalist for Marketing Student of the Year, Business Administration Student of the Year, and the Economic Club of Oklahoma Award.
