SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The University of Sioux Falls and Athletic Director Pam Gohl are excited to announce the hiring of Eric Brothers as the new Assistant Athletic Director of Compliance.

"We are excited to have Eric join the USF Athletic Department. The work ethic and drive that Eric had as a USF baseball pitcher has carried over with him to the professional environment," stated Gohl. "He has made incredible impacts in the school districts he has worked at and we expect he'll do the same here at USF.  Eric is eager to lead in a different capacity than from the coaching seat that he has been in over the years. We believe Eric's ability to break complex ideas into logical solutions will be extremely helpful for the Athletic Department."

Brothers joins USF after serving as a high school math teacher over the last seven years. He spent six years in Escondido, California before spending the past year at Washington High School here in Sioux Falls. During his time in Escondido, Brothers served six seasons on the Cougars football and baseball coaching staffs before returning to South Dakota and spending the last year on the coaching staff for Warrior Baseball.

Prior to beginning his career, Brothers was a pitcher for the USF baseball team from 2012 to 2015. He started 29 games while making 35 total appearances throughout his time with the team while pitching two complete games and one shutout. Brothers sits third in the USF record books with 161.2 innings pitched and third in strikeouts with 108 throughout his career.

"I am thrilled at the opportunity to work for the USF Athletics Department," stated Brothers. "The University of Sioux Falls means so much to my family and I, so we're grateful to be back. The staff has been extremely welcoming and I'm excited to support the athletes and staff while representing USF."

Brothers, along with his wife Claire, graduated from the University of Sioux Falls in May of 2016. He earned his bachelor's degrees in secondary education and mathematics before pursuing his masters in coaching and athletic administration where he graduated from Concordia University – Irvine in May of 2019. Following graduation from USF, Brothers spent a season with the Trinidad Triggers in 2016, a professional baseball team in the Pecos League.

Eric and Claire reside in Sioux Falls with their daughter, Elizabeth, and two dogs and are expecting their second child in July.
