Amy Kreider at 2022 Etown Fall Golf Invitational

Kreider Steps Down as Head Men's & Women's Golf Coach

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.—Elizabethtown College head men's and women's golf coach, Amy Kreider has stepped down from her position after six seasons.

Kreider spent one season as the assistant coach under Jim Reed, before making the transition in 2018-19 to head men's and women's golf coach. In 2018, she played a major role in preparing the Elizabethtown women's golf team for its inaugural season in 2018.

"I've made lifelong relationships through coaching these extraordinary men and women," Kreider said. "I look forward to watching them establish a higher level of excellence for Etown golf in the near future.  I am forever grateful for this coaching opportunity and the time I got to spend with my players. Go Jays!"

Kreider became the 10th head coach in Etown men's program history, and the first female to lead the Blue Jays. She followed Reed as the second head coach of the women's program.

"It has been a pleasure working with Amy these past six years, as she has led our men's and women's golf teams, Elizabethtown College Athletic Director, Chris Morgan said. "We are grateful to her for the commitment she made to our student-athletes, both on and off the golf course. Blue Jay golf is in a good place because of Coach Kreider."

In her first season as head men's coach, Kreider saw the Blue Jays finish seventh of eight in the Landmark Conference. At the 2021 Landmark Conference Championship, Etown earned a fifth-place finish which was their best since 2018. That season, Kreider saw the team's first All-Conference nod since 2014 and the program's first since the Landmark Conference began sponsoring golf during the 2017-18 season.  During the 2022-23 season, the men's team finished sixth in the Landmark Conference Championship with first-year, Chris Kilduff leading the way with a tie for 13th place.

In her first season as head women's coach, Kreider saw the Blue Jays finish eighth in the Landmark Conference Championship. Helen Rodefield led Etown as she tied for 14th in 2019. This past season, sophomore Grace Flocco led the women with a 14th place finish, which was the best by an individual since Rodefield in 2019. Both sophomores, Flocco and Megan Yoder were able to improve on their scores this season under the guidance of Kreider. Flocco shot a career-low 89 (+17) and Yoder broke 100 for the first time with a career-low, 98 (+27).

A national search for Elizabethtown College's next head men's and women's golf coach has already begun.
