Alverno College Hires Karlyle Ross as Head Women’s Basketball Coach

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Director of Athletics Katari Key announces the hiring of Karlyle Ross as Alverno College women's basketball head coach.

Ross was chosen as the head coach after a national search. He has held a variety of roles in the basketball industry since 2013. Karlyle Co-Founded and was Head Coach of the Austin Peay State University Men's Club Basketball Team from 2013 to 2015. Karlyle then founded and was Head Basketball Coach/President of the Milwaukee Men's Basketball Club from 2015 to 2017. In 2017, they held the role of Skill Trainer at MPAC SPORTS and Head Coach at CoachUp. From 2019 to 2021, they were a Basketball Skills Trainer and Basketball League Coordinator at Life Time Inc. and a Course Instructor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Currently, they are a Financial Representative at Northwestern Mutual and an Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at Milwaukee Area Technical College. Additionally, they are the Company Owner of Basketball Junkies, LLC, which they started in 2020.

Ross is excited about the opportunity to officially take the helm of the Alverno women's basketball program. 

Karlyle Ross began his education in 2012, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Health from Austin Peay State University in 2014. Karlyle then attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts - BA in Communication, General in 2017. Currently, they are enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, where they are pursuing a Master of Science - MS in Sports Management.
