Ed Kull Named to Division I Football Championship Committee

Fordham AD to assume post on Sept. 1

BRONX, N.Y. – Athletic Director Ed Kull has been appointed to the NCAA Division I Football Championship Committee.  Entering his fourth year at the helm of Fordham's 22 varsity teams, Kull will begin his four-year term Sept. 1.

In this capacity, Kull will serve as the Patriot League's representative on the committee that selects the 24 teams that compete in the Division I Football Championship.

"I'm beyond honored to represent Fordham and our six Patriot League counterparts on the Division I Football Championship Committee," said Kull.  "I look forward to working with other administrators from around the nation with the goal of providing the best possible postseason experience for both student-athletes and fans."

Kull was promoted to the post of athletic director in February of 2021 after serving in an interim capacity for nearly a year.  Under his guidance, fundraising and alumni participation have both skyrocketed while Fordham teams have enjoyed high levels of success on the fields of competition.

This past fall under the direction of Head Coach Joe Conlin, Fordham returned to the FCS playoffs for the first time since 2015, earning an at-large berth after going 9-2 during the regular season.  The team's only losses came on the road at FBS-opponent Ohio, a one-score defeat that saw the Rams hold a lead in the closing minute of the contest, and an overtime falter at No. 8 Holy Cross.  After the season, Kull inked Conlin to a contract extension that runs through the 2026 campaign.

Fordham Football will open its 2023 campaign on the road, traveling to UAlbany for a 7 p.m. kickoff on Aug. 26.  The Rams' home slate will commence the following weekend when they host Wagner on Saturday, Sept. 2, at 6 p.m. at Jack Coffey Field.
