WACO, Texas – Baylor University Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Mack Rhoades announced the addition of two Executive Senior Associate Athletic Directors on Thursday.

Callie Schrank, former Chief People Officer at Magnolia and Juliana Smith, current Deputy Athletics Director at Colgate, will join Rhoades' executive team in July.

"During such a pivotal time in college athletics, I am both grateful and excited to add two incredibly special and talented people like Callie and Juliana to our executive team," said Rhoades. "While they've each built impressive careers, more importantly they both share deeply in our Christian mission and commitment to Preparing Champions for Life. Callie and Juliana offer distinct perspectives and skillsets to their respective roles, and I can't wait for them to get started."

A highly-regarded former Baylor Athletics administrator, Schrank will return home to Baylor on July 24 as Executive Senior Associate Athletics Director for Sport Program Administration. Schrank previously served the athletic department in varying capacities from 2011-2018, with Chief of Staff being her most recent position.

In this role, Schrank will provide oversight of all intercollegiate sport programs, program directors of operations and sport program administrators. She will serve as liaison to all areas within the athletics department which interact and support each sport program, creating a consistent voice and vision in the area of sport program administration.

Schrank spent four years at Magnolia in Waco as Chief People Officer, where she oversaw efforts to equip organizational leadership through all aspects of the employee lifecycle. During her time at Baylor she served as Associate Athletics Director and Chief of Staff (2017-2018), Assistant Athletics Director for Personnel and Administration (2015-2017), Director of Personnel and Administration (2014-2015), and Assistant to the Athletics Director (2011-2014). Schrank is also an active member in the Waco community.

Smith, a respected and veteran administrator, will join the department on July 20 in a newly created position, Executive Senior Associate Athletics Director for Mission Impact and Enrichment. In this role, Smith will seek to cultivate and develop opportunities promoting Spiritual Growth, the founding pillar of the Baylor Athletics vision of Preparing Champions for Life. Smith will provide oversight of Sports Ministry and will serve as the Athletics Diversity and Inclusion Designee (ADID) and liaison to NCAA and Big 12 Conference diversity, equity and inclusion efforts and initiatives.

Smith has spent the past five years at Colgate, most recently as Deputy Athletics Director, Senior Woman Administrator, and the Athletics Diversity and Inclusion Designee, where she provided strategic leadership and functional oversight of the Division of Physical Education, Recreation, and Athletics. She also served as the sport administrator for football, women's basketball, and women's lacrosse. Previously Smith held the title of Senior Associate Athletics Director and Chief of Staff (2018-2019). She has additional experience at the University of Oklahoma as Assistant Athletics Director for Human Resources and Administrative Engagement (2017-2018), Director of Athletics Human Resources (2015-2017), and Director of Operations for Track & Field and Cross Country, Tennis, and Golf at Texas Tech University (2014-2015).
