Bouyer Named Assistant Athletic Director

TACOMA, Wash. — The Pacific Lutheran University Athletic Department and Athletic Director Mike Snyder announced on Wednesday the hiring of Kennadi Bouyer as the new Assistant Athletic Director.

"We're thrilled to be welcoming Kennadi to our administrative team at PLU as the new Assistant Athletic Director," said Athletic Director Mike Snyder.

"Kennadi brings extensive leadership experience working with students in a variety of capacities as both a head coach and in her position at Foundation For Tacoma Students. Her passion and energy will be a big asset for our department as we continue to enhance the student-athlete experience for our over 450 student-athletes."

Bouyer joins the Lute staff after serving as the operations manager at the Foundation For Tacoma Students, an organization with the mission of helping every child achieve success from cradle-to-college-to-career by aligning goals, data, resources, and partners.

Prior to Foundation for Tacoma Students, Bouyer was the administrative assistant for ROOT Sports, was a Group and Corporate Event Coordinator for We R Tacoma and the Tacoma Rainiers, and for two seasons was the head track & field coach at Auburn Riverside High School.

"I would like to thank Athletic Director Mike Snyder and the hiring committee for this opportunity. As a Tacoma native, I grew up participating in PLU sports camps and cheering on the Lutes at many sporting events with my family. To now serve as the Assistant Athletic Director is more than a dream come true," said Bouyer.

"When I think of Pacific Lutheran University Athletics, I think of all-around excellence. For that reason, I'm most excited to work with the wonderful coaching and administrative staff at PLU. We all share the common goal of encouraging student-athletes to succeed not only in the Northwest Conference and nationally, but also in the classroom. GO LUTES!"

Bouyer has a bachelor's degree in history and a master's degree in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership from the University of Washington. Bouyer was a member of the track & field team while at Washington, earning First Team All-American honors in the indoor 60-meters and Honorable Mention All-American honors in the 100-meters. Bouyer twice was named Pac 12 All-Academic Honorable Mention and set school records in both the indoor 60- and 200-meter dashes.

Bouyer replaces Jennifer Childress-White who will transition into a leadership role in the office of student life as the assistant dean of students. Bouyer's first day will be June 5.
