Morristown, N.J., June 2, 2023 - Saint Elizabeth University Dean of Student Affairs, David Hill, has announced the hiring of Jennifer Virgil as Director of Athletics. Virgil comes from Bloomfield College where she served as the Associate Athletic Director of Compliance.

"I am thrilled about being named St. Elizabeth University's Director of Athletics," said Virgil. "I am committed to collaborating with Athletics staff and the University to support our student-athletes' college experience."

Virgil began her career in athletic administration at Bloomfield in 2013 as the Compliance Coordinator for the Bears. She was then named Senior Woman Administrator and later promoted to Associate Director of Athletics. Virgil was a member of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's Infraction and Ethics Committee and served as the Diversity, Inclusion, and Unity Chair. Additionally, she was mentored within the Division II Athletic Directors Association Mentoring Program as a member of the NCAA Division II Membership Committee.

"The search committee and I chose Jennifer Virgil to lead our athletics department because we felt she has the wherewithal to take our program to the next level," said Hill. "I am looking forward to supporting Jennifer for many years to come."

A native of Montclair, New Jersey, Virgil holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Marketing from Howard University and a Masters of Public Administration from Villanova University. 

"A large part of my vision for the Eagles is to ensure we develop campus leaders who are prepared to make a difference in society," said Virgil. "We will focus on building a culture based on academic excellence and competitive drive."
