USCAH and The Big West Expand Partnership

COLUMBUS, Ohio and IRVINE, Calif. - The U.S. Council for Athletes’ Health (USCAH) has partnered with The Big West to provide confidential and quick access to USCAH’s team of athlete health and safety experts via U.S. Council for Athletes’ Health (USCAH) Powered by RealResponse. Through an anonymous texting feature, Big West student-athletes, coaches, and staff can receive unbiased, independent answers to questions and concerns that they may have.
 
“As we work daily to improve the student-athlete experience in The Big West, health, safety and well-bring in all aspects are critically important components,” Commissioner Dan Butterly said. “Leveraging the world-class expertise of the U.S. Council for Athlete’s Health, The Big West will be able to provide all student-athletes, coaches and staff with independent resources and a standard of care that is second to none.”
 
“We are excited to continue our partnership with The Big West to prioritize student-athlete health, safety, and well-being,” said James Borchers, CEO, and president of USCAH. “We look forward to Big West constituents being able to anonymously and confidentially receive information regarding resources, best practices and standards of care from athletic medicine experts.”

This platform will be a solution-based resource that:
  • Provides student-athletes with resources that will improve self-advocacy
  • Enhances communication through education on health and safety related topics
  • Addresses concerns regarding the health and safety of student-athletes
  • Helps to bridge the gap and support collaboration with on-site athletics healthcare personnel
  • Promotes trust by providing access to health and safety professionals not affiliated with Big West institutions
  • Provides coaches and staff with the best practices and standard of care in the world of athletics healthcare
 
This partnership and anonymous texting feature will be live for The Big West’s student-athletes, coaches, and staff starting November 14.
