Prior to her arrival at Pitt, Fischer was the Coordinator of Business Operations at the University of Maryland from 2019-2021. While at Maryland, she assisted with purchasing, travel reimbursement, and budget reconciliations. As an advocate of financial literacy, she also began presenting virtual financial literacy workshops to collegiate student-athletes and young professionals to improve basic skills in budgeting and debt management.

Fischer was a member of the 2018-19 NCAA Postgraduate Intern Program, working for the Finance and Accounting Department, where she assisted with the budget and expense operations of the NCAA’s internal departments and 90 championships. Prior to the NCAA, she spent two years at Stevenson University as the women’s basketball graduate assistant, earning her master’s in communication studies.

Beginning her career as an assurance associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Fischer specialized in asset management corporations and the financial services industry.

Fischer is a member of the College Athletic Business Management Association (CABMA) and Women Leaders in College Sports. She is currently serving as a Program Lead in CABMA’s Mentor Me program and was awarded the CABMA Emerging Leader Award in 2022. She also serves on the Education & Professional Development Committee for Women Leaders in College Sports.

A graduate of Marymount University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a specialty in accounting, Fischer was a four-year member and two-year captain of the women’s basketball team. She helped the team to a Division III CAC Championship and NCAA appearance while also garnering several individual academic and athletic accolades. Most notably, she won the 2014 Jostens Trophy, an award that recognizes one male and one female outstanding student-athlete in NCAA Division III basketball for excellence in the classroom, on the court, and in the community.
