LOGAN, Utah – Utah State Interim Director of Athletics Jerry Bovee announced Monday that Todd Judge has been named the Aggies' 10th head softball coach.

"We are excited to introduce Todd as our next head softball coach," Bovee said. "He has passion and energy for the game of softball. His knowledge and experience of the game, paired with his dedication to the student-athlete experience, is a great combination for our program. We look forward to watching Todd lead our softball team to the top of the league."

Judge joins the Aggies after spending the last two seasons as a part of the coaching staff at BYU. He has over 15 years of softball coaching experience and 10 years of baseball coaching experience.

"I would first like to thank all of the players, coaches, mentors and supporters who have helped me achieve this lifelong goal," Judge said. "I would like to thank Jerry Bovee and Amy Crosbie, whose vision for what Utah State can accomplish align with all my core principles in coaching on and off the field. There is a great foundation that has been laid down from coach Steve Johnson over the last 10 years. My goal will be to build upon that foundation to achieve greatness in all aspects of everything we do. My family will embrace Utah State and immediately become part of Aggie nation."

While at BYU, Judge helped coach the Cougars to a combined 77-27 overall record. As a BYU assistant coach in 2023, Judge coached third base and worked with the catchers, while also serving as the recruiting coordinator and strength and conditioning advisor, and oversaw hitting instruction, defensive play and base running. He served as a volunteer assistant coach for the Cougars in 2022, specifically coaching third base.

Prior to BYU, Judge coached travel and high school baseball for 10 years, travel softball for 15 years and junior college softball for one year. Judge spent three years as a junior college baseball strength and conditioning coach, and was both the co-founder and head coach of the Oro Valley Sun Cats Softball club.

Judge has placed over 100 players in collegiate softball and baseball, and also spent 24 years of ownership in numerous fitness facilities. In 28 years of personal training, he has trained D1 baseball and softball players, Minor League Baseball players, PGA golfers, NFL players, CFL players and D1 college coaches.

Hailing from Oro Valley, Arizona, Judge earned a degree in exercise science at Arizona State, where he met his wife, Chris, a four-year letter winner in gymnastics. They have two daughters, Mackenzie and Maddie, who both play softball. Mackenzie played two years at Pima Community College, and Maddie is a senior at Embry Riddle University in Prescott, Arizona.
