PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Chancellor Samuel M. Mencoff '78 Vice President for Athletics and Recreation M. Grace Calhoun '92, Ph.D. announced today that Keely McDonald '00 would step down as the head coach of women's lacrosse.

"I am proud of the growth of the young women in our program and their accomplishments on and off the field," said McDonald. "It has been an honor to grow the program during my time here. Working at Brown was a rewarding experience, and I'm grateful to our people, players, and the Brown community with whom I've had the opportunity to work closely. After two decades, I am ready for a change and excited for a new chapter in my family's life."

"We are grateful for the commitment and dedication Keely brought to our women's lacrosse program," said Calhoun. "She will always be a valued part of the Brown Athletics community, and we wish her and her family well."

McDonald served as head coach from 2004 through 2023. Under her guidance, Brown had a 117-146 record and a 32-89 Ivy League record.

A national search for the women's lacrosse head coach position will begin immediately.
