Linda Huggler, associate athletic director for compliance, at the Air Force Academy has announced her retirement effective June 30.

Huggler has almost 30 years of experience in collegiate athletics as an instructor, coach and NCAA compliance administrator. She has spent the last 25 in Air Force Athletics directing the NCAA compliance office.

"On behalf of the entire athletic department and Academy, we would like to congratulate Linda Huggler on an incredible career of service at Air Force," Director of Athletics Nathan Pine said. "Linda has been an outstanding teammate within Air Force Athletics and her 30-year career in collegiate athletics has made an incredible impact on countless cadet-athletes, coaches and staff. Linda has always put the Academy first, ensuring that Air Force had robust NCAA Compliance education and monitoring practices for our cadet-athletes, coaches and staff. We are grateful for her leadership and wish her all the best in her well-deserved retirement."

"I have been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work in Air Force Athletics for almost 30 years," Huggler said. "The landscape of college athletics has changed significantly during that time, but the Academy has remained committed to providing the best experience possible for our cadet-athletes. I am truly grateful for the support that I have received over the years from coaches, support staff, and senior leadership. While it is bittersweet to conclude my time at Air Force, I am also looking forward to retirement and what comes next."

Huggler is a 1983 graduate of the Academy, where she earned a bachelor's degree in economics. She was a four-year letter winner in basketball. Following graduation, she was assigned as a cost and management analysis officer at Carswell AFB, Texas, where she later became the chief of the cost branch.  In December 1986, Huggler reported to the B-1 System Program office at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, and served as a cost analyst. She then worked as a cost analysis officer in the B-2 System Program office until May of 1991.

Huggler returned to the Academy in May 1991 where she was assigned as a physical education instructor and assistant coach for the women's basketball team. In August 1995, she moved to the Air Force Cost Analysis Agency in Arlington, Va. In August 1998, she returned to the Academy as the NCAA compliance director in the athletics department.
