Lane Named Elizabethtown College Aquatics Director/Head Swim Coach

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.—Elizabethtown College Athletics announced the hiring of Jessica Lane as the new Aquatics Director/Men's & Women's Swim Coach.

Lane recently completed her fourth season as the Assistant Men's & Women's Swim Coach at Etown. Lane started with the Blue Jays in September 2019, bringing in over 10 years of coaching experience.

"We are excited to have Jess as our Head Swim Coach and Aquatics Director," Elizabethtown College Director of Athletics, Chris Morgan said. "She has been an instrumental part of our swim program's continued success over the past four seasons, and I look forward to working with her as the program continues to grow."

During the 2022-23 season, the men's team broke six Etown program records led by Leif Hoffman '26 with three individuals and one relay. Hoffman picked up a first-place finish in the 1650 freestyle and was named the program's first Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year. On the women's side, eight Etown program records were broken which included four relay events. At Landmark Championships, the women earned their first all-conference selection in a relay event since joining the conference in 2014.

Prior to Lane coming to Etown, she spent seven years as the head coach of Lower Paxton Aquatic Club in Harrisburg. From 2008-22, Lane was also the head coach of the Mountain View Swim Club in Harrisburg, guiding the competitive swim program for the group.

Lane obtained her Bachelor of Arts in History and Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education in 2010 from The California University of Pennsylvania. During her time as an undergraduate, Lane competed for the University's swim team as a distance freestyler, 400 IMer and 200 flyer.

Lane went on to obtained her Master's in Advance Studies in Secondary Education from Cal U. While working toward her masters, she coached the high school and USA club team at Peters Township in McMurray, Pa. from 2011-12.
