ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure men's soccer will undergo a change in leadership for the 2025 season as head coach Kwame Oduro has announced his resignation to pursue other opportunities in the soccer world.

"I'd like to thank Kwame for over a decade of dedicated and loyal service to St. Bonaventure University and our athletic department," said St. Bonaventure Vice President and Director of Athletics Bob Beretta. "Kwame has been an exemplary leader for a generation of Bonnies student-athletes and epitomized our Franciscan values throughout his tenure here at Bona's. We will miss Kwame, Katie, Gabriella, Elijah and Noah, but wish them well as they begin a new chapter of their lives and continue their good journey away from St. Bonaventure."

Oduro guided Bonnies men's soccer for the past 10 seasons, making the program competitive within the Atlantic 10 throughout his tenure. He recruited and developed six Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team selections, two United Soccer Coaches All-Region honorees and five players have received A-10 Academic Team nods. Oduro is the third-longest tenured coach in Bonnies men's soccer program history.

He has accepted a position on the coaching staff for Oregon State women's soccer.

"I'm deeply grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of this incredible soccer program for the past 10 years. The experiences, relationships, and memories I've made here are truly irreplaceable," Oduro said. "I'm so proud of the growth, development, and success of our players, both on and off the field. As I move on to a new chapter, I want to thank our players, parents, colleagues, and the entire St. Bonaventure community for their unwavering support, trust, and camaraderie. I'll carry the lessons, values, and spirit of this program with me always."

His squads were also successful academically, recording multiple United Soccer Coaches and College Sports Communications regional and national academic awards. The program received the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award in each of Oduro's seasons at the helm.

A national search for the next leader of Bonnies men's soccer is underway.
