NORFOLK, Va., April 18, 2023 – Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Commissioner Sonja Stills announced on Tuesday the introduction of two new staff members and the elevation of two others as the 2022-23 academic year progresses and the conference moves forward.

Dr. Zaneta Ivy-Bailey has been hired as Associate Commissioner for Administration and Compliance, while Deborah Davis, who is no stranger to the MEAC, has been brought on board full-time as the Senior Director of Accounting.

In addition, Nikia Hill has been elevated from Administrative Assistant to Director of Administrative Services and Logistics, while Ohin Gaston, previously Special Assistant to the Commissioner, is now the Director of Administrative Services and Esports Coordinator.

“I’m excited to welcome Dr. Bailey to the MEAC, and to once again have Deborah back in the fold full-time,” Stills said. “I’m also pleased to be able to promote Nikia and Ohin in their respective roles. They’ve been tremendous assets to the conference, and we look forward to continuing our growth in better serving our eight member institutions.”

Bailey comes to the MEAC with over 20 years of experience coordinating Student-Athlete Academic Support offices, compliance departments, managing full-time academic coordinators, interns and graduate assistants. She was previously the Director of Compliance at the University of Memphis, and before that, she was Assistant Athletic Director for Academics at Howard University.

Davis, who had previously served as Business Manager for the conference office, will oversee the MEAC’s overall accounting and auditing operations and practices.

Hill and Gaston will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the MEAC office, while Gaston will now serve as the conference office’s main contact for esports.
