WILKES-BARRE, PA (April 12, 2023) -- On Wednesday afternoon, the next era of the King's College football program began as Associate Vice President and Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation Cheryl Ish announced that Skyler Fultz will be the next Head Coach in the Monarchs program history.

"I'm excited to announce Skyler Fultz as our next Head Football Coach," said Ish. "Over the many years that Skyler has been with us at King's, he has demonstrated his commitment to our mission and to the NCAA Division III philosophy. His dedication for the development of our student-athletes in all areas of their experience is tangible. I believe our entire football coaching staff has done a great job in positioning our team for future success, and I look forward to working with Skyler as he takes on this new role."

Fultz takes over after Jeff Knarr stepped down on February 16 and inherits a program that has seen the best season in program history in 2022. Fultz has served as Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach over the past five active seasons and helped lead the Monarchs as they ranked first in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) in 2022 in passing offense.

Prior to stepping into the Offensive Coordinator role, he held the title of Offensive Pass Game Coordinator from 2015 to 2017 where he helped transition the offense from pro-style to spread, up tempo, and no huddle in the 2016 season, leading the Monarchs to the top overall offense and passing offense in the MAC. Additionally, Fultz served a previous stint with King's from 2012 to 2014 as the Running Backs Coach, Video Coordinator, Junior Varsity Offensive Coordinator, and Tight Ends Coach.

Fultz also saw success at the individual level as he helped coach quarterback Tyler Moore as he broke or tied six school records in the 2022 season, as well as coaching two D3football.com All-Region Selections in running back Jordan Downes in 2019 and tight end Brandon Cohen in 2022.

"I am beyond excited to be selected as the next Head Football Coach at King's College," stated Fultz. "King's College is an amazing community that I've been fortunate to call home for close to the last decade."

In addition to his duties on the sideline throughout his tenure, Fultz has overseen all technological needs for the program, managed travel accommodations, served as work study coordinator for managers and film staff, and headed the King's College Football Golf Tournament Fundraiser. Fultz is also very active on campus as he served as the Chair of the Student Affairs Committee to evaluate and improve student communication, participated in numerous department search committees, and assisted in multiple game-day duties such as game management, clock operations, and public address and broadcast announcing.

Outside of athletics, Fultz has been an active participant in King's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) events such as Special Olympics practices, Read Across America Day, and local park clean ups.

"I am looking forward to helping our football program reach new heights while helping to transform young men and women into the best versions of themselves," added Fultz. "I want to thank the members of the search committee along with Associate Vice President and Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation Cheryl Ish, Vice President of Student Affairs Dr. Anitra McShea, and President Fr. Looney for entrusting me to lead this program."

Prior to his time with the King's football program, Fultz served as Running Backs Coach and Strength and Conditioning Coordinator at Allegheny College in the 2014-15 academic year, as well as the Tight Ends Coach at Susquehanna University in the 2011-12 academic year.

Fultz's duties will begin immediately as the Monarchs wind down their spring ball practices and gear up for the summer preparations ahead of the 2023 season.
