Quinns Make Major Gifts To SWOSU Women's Basketball

WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) with locations in Weatherford, Sayre, and Yukon has announced the receipt of major charitable gifts to the SWOSU Women's Basketball team from Drs. Chelly (Belanger) Quinn and Joe Quinn of Sunnyvale, Texas.

"We are delighted to give back to our alma mater and to celebrate the legacy of Coach John Loftin," the Quinns said. "SWOSU continues to play an important role in the lives of its student-athletes and we hope others will join us in supporting that work through philanthropy."

The Quinns have made a generous combination of endowed and planned gifts to SWOSU Women's Basketball via the Coach John Loftin Endowment stewarded by the SWOSU Foundation, Inc. Their philanthropic investments will provide student and program support to the SWOSU Basketball Lady Bulldogs.

"SWOSU Women's Basketball will be stronger because of this generous gift from Chelly and Joe Quinn," said SWOSU Athletic Director Todd Helton. "We cannot thank them enough for giving back and paying tribute to Coach Loftin."

The Quinns are both proud SWOSU alumni—Chelly a 1982 graduate (and member of the 1982 Lady Bulldog NAIA National Championship Basketball Team) and Joe a 1981 graduate (and a member of the SWOSU Football team from 1977-81). The Quinns have both had successful careers practicing veterinary medicine in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Chelly is semiretired and sits on the governing boards of Dogs For Better Lives and of the Search One Rescue Team. The Quinns have three children and a growing crew of grandchildren all in the north Texas area.

In recognition of the Quinns' planned gifts, they will be inducted into SWOSU's planned giving society, SWOSU Tomorrows.

SWOSU is happy to assist alumni and friends of the institution who would like to discuss estate planning options or to notify the university that SWOSU has been included in a finalized estate plan. Donors to SWOSU who choose to record their planned gifts to SWOSU will be named as part of the SWOSU Tomorrows planned giving society and recognized according to their wishes and preferences, joining a special place of honor amongst the university's many benefactors. Former SWOSU presidents Dr. Joe Anna Hibler and the late Dr. John Hays served as the founding honorary co-chairs of the SWOSU Tomorrows effort under the guidance of the SWOSU Foundation, Inc. Board of Trustees.

The SWOSU Tomorrows planned giving society is coordinated by the SWOSU Foundation, Inc. The Foundation was established in 1977 to promote philanthropy and distribute funds to support the activities and programs of SWOSU.
