Kyle Campbell Tabbed As New Tornado Women's Soccer Coach

BRISTOL, Tenn. – David Hicks, King University's vice president for athletics, announced the hiring of Kyle Campbell as head women's soccer coach on February 10, 2025.

Campbell joins King from Spartanburg Methodist College, where he served as head coach from 2022 to 2024. During his tenure, he achieved a record of 30-14-3. In his first year, his team finished with an 11-5-1 record, marking the most wins for a first-year NAIA program.

Campbell is looking forward to leading the Tornado onto the pitch this fall.

"I want to start by saying that I am very grateful and honored to be named the next head coach of the King University Women's Soccer program," he said. "I want to thank David Hicks and Dawn Regan (assistant athletic director) for having faith in me to lead this program. My goal is to be intentional with a positive mindset in everything we do. I want to see the women's soccer program be a threat in the conference every year. I look forward to working with our current student-athletes and taking this program to new heights."

Hicks knew immediately that Campbell would be an excellent addition to the King coaching staff.

"From the start of our process of reviewing candidates, Kyle emerged as a top pick for the search committee, and throughout the interview process, he solidified himself as an excellent fit for King," he offered. "His personal faith, character, and passion for preparing young women for life after college aligns in every way with our institutional values.

"Kyle is driven and passionate, and a proven winner. In addition to a career 67% winning percentage, he's been a multiple-time coach of the year and has produced student athletes who excel on the field and in the classroom.  I'm excited for the future of our women's soccer program and for our student athletes."

Campbell earned a B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Urbana University in Ohio. He played soccer for the Blue Knights throughout his college career. At Spartanburg Methodist College, he was named NJCAA (before the school transitioned to NAIA) Region 10 Coach of the Year in 2022 and 2023.
