UTEP Athletics Introduces “The Gold Standard Giving Society,” Announces $10,000,000 in Commitments

2/3/2025 10:16:00 AM

EL PASO, Texas – UTEP Athletics and the Miner Athletic Club have announced the launch of the Gold Standard Giving Society, the premier philanthropic giving society composed of generous and committed donors who provide critical financial support of UTEP student-athletes, coaches and sports programs.

Commitments of $30,000 or more over a three-year period, above and beyond priority seating contributions, will afford membership to the society.  Members will receive a unique, personalized relationship with UTEP Athletics, as well as invitations to exclusive events and tailored experiences such as away game travel, pre-game sideline access and priority access.

Since the fall of 2024, 28 inaugural members of Gold Standard have contributed over $10 million in support of UTEP Athletics philanthropic priorities.

"The Gold Standard Giving Society is designed for donors who are committed to making a lasting impact on our student-athletes and sports programs," UTEP Vice President and Director of Athletics Jim Senter said.  "Through strategic, long-term giving, these donors play a critical role in ensuring that UTEP Athletics is equipped to meet the evolving demands of intercollegiate athletics."

Gold Standard Giving Society funding will be invested strategically, including towards student-athlete scholarships, sport-specific initiatives, capital projects and endowments.  The society's impact is further amplified through its support of the Climb Higher Campaign, ensuring that UTEP Athletics can recruit, develop, and retain top-tier talent, enhance facilities and support sports operating budgets in anticipation of the eagerly awaited move to the Mountain West Conference in 2026.

"The response from our community has been tremendous," Michael Levy, UTEP Deputy Athletic Director for Revenue Generation, said.  "Surpassing $10 million in commitments speaks to the passion Miner Nation has for its athletics department.  We are just getting started and will be calling on supporters near and far to join the Gold Standard Giving Society to help UTEP Athletics Climb Higher."

Membership is based on multi-year giving at the levels of $30,000, $60,000, $150,000, and $300,000+.
