Lenny Daniels leaving Warner Bros. Discovery

Lenny Daniels is leaving as President of Warner Bros. Discovery Sports U.S., ending a 27-year run with the company. WBD Sports announced the move, effective immediately, via an internal memo from Chair & CEO Luis Silberwasser late this afternoon. “While this change will take place right away, Lenny has agreed to work with me to ensure a smooth transition,” Silberwasser wrote. Daniels direct reports will move over to Silberwasser on an interim basis, the memo read. That includes long-time Turner execs like EVP/GM Tina Shah, Chief Content Officer Craig Barry, SVP/Talent Relations and Special Projects Tara August, Bleacher Report SVP/Content and Programming Bennett Spector and VP/Tech Operations Chris Brown.

In his memo, Silberwasser touched on Daniels attributes, from his production and storytelling expertise to his deal making and leadership in diversity, equity and inclusion. “Each of these important pillars -- best-in-class production and storytelling, the strategic importance of B/R, and an unwavering commitment to DEI values -- will remain at the core of WBD Sports and further accelerated in everything we do,” Silberwasser wrote. Silberwasser: “I have enjoyed working with Lenny during these past few months and I respect his decision. Lenny has never been one to place a spotlight on himself; he’s always been quick to shine it on those around him. His enthusiasm and light-hearted demeanor are among his most endearing qualities, and they will be missed.”
