The R.E.C. will give KC fans, alumni and donors a way to directly contribute to student-athletes’ NIL pursuits

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Roos Excellence Collective (R.E.C.), a third-party 5013c organization supporting Kansas City Athletics' student-athletes was recently founded and launched. The collective will focus on providing Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) opportunities for Roo student-athletes and teams.

The R.E.C. will act as many of the other collectives nationally that have quickly swept the modernized NIL landscape, providing Kansas City alumni and fans unique opportunities to support Roo student-athletes.

"Kansas City Athletics continues to prioritize holistic support for our student-athletes, including their desired NIL opportunities," Vice Chancellor/Director of Athletics Dr. Brandon Martin said. "The Roos Excellence Collective represents another resource and tool for our student-athletes to access, which is important in an ever-changing landscape of college athletics."

Contributions to the R.E.C. will give donors the ability to direct donations to benefit eligible student-athletes in the sport of their choice, or the option to support a general fund for distribution to student-athletes across all sports.

The Roos Excellence Collective will create opportunities for in-person engagements in the community such as meet-and-greets and charity efforts. The R.E.C. will also assist in facilitating youth sports programs throughout Kansas City, speaking engagements and corporate advertising campaigns. There will also be opportunities in the future for exclusive student-athlete content, merchandise and giveaways.

Kansas City Athletics has remained competitive in the emerging NIL space, recently expanding its partnership with INFLCR to include the KC Roos Exchange, which allows streamlined connection and interaction process between Kansas City student-athletes and interested businesses, collectives and other individuals.

While the KC Roos Exchange has opened opportunities for student-athletes to capitalize upon their name, image and likeness, the foundation of the R.E.C. provides a streamlined process for fans and donors to directly impact Kansas City student-athletes. The R.E.C. is a registered member of the KC Roos Exchange.
