Rockets Announce Staff Reorganization and Promotions

Administrative changes implemented to help elevate success of Toledo Athletics

TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo Athletic Department recently completed an administrative reorganization that will help position the Rockets for continued and heightened success, Toledo Vice President and Director of Athletics Bryan B. Blair announced today.  
 
The changes include promotions as well as new reporting duties and assignments for several staff members.  
 
"You win with people first and foremost," said Blair. "The University of Toledo and our athletic department is a special place, full of special people. Our team is full of servant leaders who believe in the power of teamwork and supporting an incredible student-athlete experience. These organizational changes will help position our department for continued success and growth for years to come." 
 
The following changes are effective immediately: 
 
Tony Belt, Senior Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Experience 
Tony Belt assumes a new role as senior associate athletic director for student-athlete experience. He had previously served as associate athletic director for student-athlete support services since 2020. In his new role, Belt will serve as a campus inclusion officer and play a leadership role in community relations. He will also serve as the sport administrator for women's track & field, men's cross country and women's cross country. 
 
Josh Dittman, Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development 
Josh Dittman has been promoted to senior associate athletic director for development after previously serving as associate athletic director for development. Dittman, who has worked for the Rockets in various roles in the development office since 2010, will oversee expanded staff and new philanthropic giving initiatives, including The 1923 Society.
 
Rebecca Lugo, Executive Assistant 
Rebecca Lugo continues in her role as executive assistant and has been added to the department's senior staff. Lugo, who has worked for the Rockets since 2017, will take on several new responsibilities, including serving as the liaison to Park UToledo.
 
Brian Lutz, Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Integrity 
Brian Lutz has been promoted to the role of senior associate athletic director for compliance and integrity. He has served in the compliance office at UT since 2003. Lutz will assume new duties as the sport administrator for women's soccer and will be the department's liaison to the Title IX office regarding any allegations of sex or gender discrimination by a student-athlete or athletics staff member, assisting student-athletes and athletics staff who wish to file a complaint regarding sexual misconduct, relationship violence, or gender-based harassment and discrimination. Lutz will also provide oversight and coordination for student-athlete and athletics staff Title IX education.
 
Jennifer Nehls, Senior Associate Athletic Director/Chief Financial Officer
Jennifer Nehls will assume the position of senior associate athletic director and chief financial officer after previously serving as associate athletic director for finance since 2016. She will serve as the sport administrator for softball, and oversee the equipment, merchandise, licensing, and concession areas. 

Kenny Schank, Associate Athletic Director for Compliance 
Kenny Schank has been promoted to the position of associate athletic director for compliance after serving as assistant athletic director for compliance since 2015. Schank will add the responsibility of sport administrator for men's tennis and women's tennis to his duties. 
 
Al Tomlinson, Deputy Athletic Director 
 Deputy Athletic Director Al Tomlinson will add sport oversight responsibilities for women's volleyball. 
 
These changes are in addition to the recently announced addition of Executive Associate AD/COO and SWA Nicole Alderson.
