Holy Cross Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Kit Hughes announced Wednesday, Nov. 20 that the College will make a change in the leadership of the volleyball program, parting ways with head coach Kathleen Colpoys.
"We sincerely appreciate Coach Colpoys' leadership of our volleyball program over the last six seasons," Hughes said. "As an alumna, she has displayed passion for and dedication to our student-athletes and College, developing outstanding representatives in the classroom and community. I wish her well in her future endeavors."
Holy Cross Volleyball began varsity competition at the College in 1976 and is a proud member of the Patriot League. Now in its fourth decade as an all-sport conference combining academic and athletic excellence, the Patriot League's mission is simple: to provide successful competitive athletic experiences while maintaining high academic standards, and to prepare its student-athletes to be leaders in society.
"Our volleyball program has a longstanding tradition of developing strong leaders and representatives of the College and Patriot League's mission," Hughes said. "I have confidence that we will find a coach who will maintain this same standard and set up our student-athletes for new levels of competitive success in the coming years."
A national search for a new head coach will begin immediately. For any questions or inquiries, please send all correspondence to: crusadervbsearch@holycross.edu.
