WAUKESHA, Wis. - Carroll University and the Pioneers' Athletics Department is proud to welcome Gabe Pearlman as Carroll's Head Men's Lacrosse Coach. Pearlman's hiring is effective immediately, as he takes over a program that finished with a program-best six wins last season.
Pearlman comes to Carroll from Marian University, where he served as the Sabres Head Men's Lacrosse Coach for two years. During his tenure, Pearlman produced two All-Conference Honorable Mention selections and one CSC Academic All-American. He also generated revenue through fundraising, grew his roster to 21 players at the time of his departure.
"I'm elated to bring a young, up-and-coming coach into the Carroll family. Gabe has risen quickly in the coaching ranks and is a great addition to help lead the Carroll men's lacrosse program into a new era," Carroll Athletics Director Michael Schulist said. "Gabe has a student-athlete first approach and a strong vision in how to elevate this program to the next level. I look forward to supporting Gabe and the men's lacrosse student-athletes through this new journey together."
Prior to his stint at Marian, Pearlman served as the Graduate Assistant Coach at Frostburg State University. While at Frostburg, he developed an offensive playbook, contacted new recruits, led campus tours, helped the team break program records for goals, assists, and points in a single season, and guided four offensive players to All-Conference honors. Pearlman also has coaching experience at 6 Points Sports Academy, Washington and Jefferson College, and Stevenson High School.
"I'm excited to start a new chapter with the men's lacrosse program at Carroll University. Coach Acevedo and the team have done a great job building a strong base for the program moving forward, and I'm grateful to Michael Schulist, Mark Krzykowski, and the rest of the search committee for this opportunity," Pearlman said. "Carroll's academic supports, community, and location provide an excellent experience for student-athletes to grow and for our program to continue improving. I'd like to thank everyone at Marian University for supporting me during my time there, and everyone on the staff at Frostburg State for mentoring me every step of the way."
Pearlman is a 2018 graduate of Beloit College, where he was a four-year varsity player on the lacrosse team. While at Beloit, Pearlman was named to the Dean's List three times, while also earning a spot on the Midwest Lacrosse Conference All-Academic Team on two occasions.
