New York, NY - John Jay College Director of Athletics Cat Alves announced on Thursday that Deanna Sannuti has been elevated to Associate Athletics Director for Academic Success, Compliance & Eligibility.

"I am honored and grateful to continue serving our amazing student-athletes in this new role," commented Sannuti. "I would like to thank Cat Alves and John Jay College Vice President, Brian Kerr, for giving me this opportunity and their support throughout this process."

In addition to the new role, Sannuti will continue to serve the Bloodhounds' Athletic Department as the Senior Woman Administrator (SWA).

"I am proud of what we have already accomplished on the academic support side the past four years, but know that we will continue to work hard and achieve more in the coming months and years that follow," Sannuti added. "I love what I do and eagerly await what the future holds in this new position."

Before arriving at John Jay in 2019, Sannuti served as the Assistant to the Director of Athletics for Administration at the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) as part of the City University of New York (CUNY) system. There, she assisted the Director with compliance under NJCAA rules that included transfer waivers and letters of intent.

Sannuti is in her fourth year as Assistant Athletic Director of Academic Success, Compliance & Eligibility. She runs all academic and compliance meetings for all student-athletes. She has also spearheaded the creation of the 'Leading Bloodhounds Leadership' program, which is a four-year program designed to provide student-athletes with the skills, knowledge, and experiences to become leaders at John Jay and beyond the realm of college athletics.

"I am delighted to recognize Deanna's continued growth as an administrator," Alves said. "As a valued member of our leadership team, Deanna contributes significantly to our academic support and compliance efforts as well as the overall department strategy. I look forward to all she will bring to the bright future of the Bloodhounds."

She also serves as the campus designee for CUNYAC (City University of New York Athletic Conference) Sexual Assault and Sexual Misconduct advisor, is a member of the John Jay Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee and is on the CUNYAC compliance committee.

Sannuti graduated from SUNY Oneonta with a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication with a concentration in production before receiving a Master of Science degree from Adelphi University in Sport Management with a concentration in college athletics.
