We are excited to share that Alissa Aragon has been promoted to Associate Athletics Director for Student Success/SWA.  Alissa has spent the past eight years in the athletic department, starting as the athletic academic advisor.  She most recently held the assistant director title while overseeing compliance and academics, among other strategic planning and key initiatives.  Prior to joining the athletics department, Aragon spent nine years working in Student Leadership and Development and one year in Associated Students Inc.   Since joining the athletics team, Aragon has tirelessly worked to expand resources offered to student-athletes.  Perhaps most impressive has been the development and expansion of the Athletic Academic Center (AAC).  "Alissa has become a tremendous leader not only within the department, but also across campus.  She has continued to impress with her work ethic, communication and dedication to the department," said Allaire.  In her expanded role, Aragon will oversee every aspect internally related to the overall success of Warrior student-athletes.  In addition, she serves as the Deputy Title IX Coordinator and acts as a liaison to the Stanislaus State Title IX office.  She is also the Senior Women's Administrator for the department, a title she has held since 2019.

Warrior Athletics would like to welcome Steven Flowers as the new Associate Athletic Director for Game Operations and Facilities.  Steven will be moving from the coaching side of the department where he has served as the assistant volleyball coach for the past year and a half.  Although Steven has a vast array of coaching experience at the collegiate level, that coaching has also allowed him to assist in many other roles in various departments.  He has extensive experience in running camps, gameday operations for a variety of sports, and experience with sports information and communication.  "Steven's energy and passion will be a tremendous asset to our department and will also enhance the student-athlete experience.  He has fresh and innovative ideas that I believe will fit well with our department and community," Allaire said.  Steven will oversee all the gameday operations, including marketing and promotions, as well as the communications and sports information area of the department.

In addition, Allaire announced that Dawn Ramirez has taken over as the Administrative Support Coordinator for the department.  Dawn comes from within the campus as she previously worked as an events specialist for University Events in the Division of Advancement.  Dawn fills the spot previously held by Charlene Bargas who was the ASC for almost 20 years.  Dawn will serve as the coordinator for all department events and serve as front line staff managing the day-to-day duties of the office.  Charlene has now moved into the Business Operations Specialist position for the department.  "Charlene has been and will continue to be the backbone of the department.  With the addition of Dawn our administrative staff has gotten even stronger, and I am really looking forward to working with our new team," Allaire said.  "Warrior Athletics is continuing to build a strong team of dedicated individuals of high character that can continue to enhance the championship experience for the students we serve."
