Mobile app lets Lawrence fans connect with the Vikings

APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University Athletics has launched a mobile app to give fans an all-inclusive resource to follow the Vikings, Director of Athletics Jason Imperati announced today.
"The launching of our very own athletics app will allow our LU community to stay connected to their favorite sports, student-athletes and stories in real time," Imperati said. "This technology was another important piece towards our continued efforts in brand elevation for Viking Athletics."
The free app is available on the Apple App Store and through Google Play.
Through the app, which was developed by Lawrence's website and streaming partner Sidearm Sports, fans of the Vikings will enjoy a personalized mobile experience with the ability to shop for official Lawrence University merchandise, receive breaking news and get score notifications for the teams they follow.
The app is designed with a user-friendly interface that integrates with the Lawrence Athletics website, vikings.lawrence.edu, to bring the latest Lawrence Athletics digital content right to a fan's fingertips.
The app also includes links to the more than 75 live home broadcasts produced by the Department of Athletics each year, and fans can access on-demand viewing of previous home games. Through the app, fans may also access in-game stats for multiple sports and see the latest on social media feeds. You can follow the Vikings on Twitter at @LUvikings or on Facebook at Lawrence University Athletics.
"We are so excited to be able to bring fans closer to their favorite teams and to our Lawrence Athletics family," Imperati said.
