ERIE, Pa. -- Gannon women's and men's water polo head coach Shane Unger has announced his resignation.

Unger recently concluded his fifth season as the head coach of Gannon's water polo teams. His tenure included a pair of Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Western Division Men's Water Polo Championships (2019 and 2021) and 83 victories between the two programs.

"We are appreciative of Coach Shane Unger's service to our women's and men's water polo teams over the past five seasons," said Gannon Director of Athletics Lisa Goddard McGuirk. "We wish him the best in his future endeavors."

A national search for Gannon's next women's and men's water polo head coach will begin immediately.
