MIAMI – Following a Conference USA title and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2023, FIU head tennis coach Katarina Petrovic has signed a contract extension that will see her leading the Panthers through the 2028 season, FIU Athletics Director Scott Carr announced on Tuesday.
 
"I couldn't be more excited to have Kat continue to lead our tennis program into the future!" Carr said. "She has built a phenomenal tennis program here. Her student-athletes have excelled on the court and in the classroom, which is what we strive to do here. We look forward to watching Kat and our Panthers continue to compete at the highest level."
 
Petrovic's program has been to the NCAA Tournament each of the last three seasons and has accumulated a record of 55-14 over the last four seasons.
 
"Being head coach here at FIU is such an honor," Petrovic said. "I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue leading this program. I'm extremely appreciative of our AD Scott Carr and his belief in our vision for the program, and I can't thank him enough for his endless support. The success this program has seen this past season and over the years has been very encouraging and I truly believe we're just scratching the surface. The best is yet to come for FIU Tennis."
 
This past spring marked FIU's second C-USA Championship under Petrovic and fourth trip to the NCAA Tournament since taking over for the 2013 season. The Panthers had six wins over ranked opponents and climbed as high as 35^th in the national rankings.
 
Petrovic's teams have continued to excel in the classroom as well, leading all FIU teams with a GPA of 3.70 this past fall, and posting an impressive 3.62 while competing at the highest level this spring.
