BIG EAST Extends Partnership with Prasco Park Through 2028

Since 2018, Prasco Park, along with Xavier University has been the host of the baseball championship.

NEW YORK – The BIG EAST Conference announced Wednesday that Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio will be the home of the BIG EAST Baseball Championship through 2028, extending their partnership an additional five years. Xavier will remain the co-host of the annual postseason tournament which is held the week of Memorial Day Weekend each year. The top four teams in the conference standings at the end of the regular season qualify for the championship.
 
“We're delighted to announce this extension with Prasco Park for the BIG EAST Baseball Championship,” said BIG EAST Commissioner Val Ackerman. “Since 2018, Prasco has provided our student-athletes, coaches, administrators and fans with an unrivaled experience, and we're excited to extend the arrangement for the next five years. We're grateful to the exceptional staffs at Prasco and Xavier for their help in creating an exciting and welcoming environment for everyone who is part of this important conference event.”
 
Since 2018, Prasco Park, along with Xavier University has been the host of the baseball championship. The 2023 Championship begins Wednesday, May 24 and continues through Saturday, May 27 in a double-elimination format. Promotional events will take place through the entirety of the tournament, with more details provided in the coming weeks.

Located on the campus of Prasco Laboratories, the park opened on June 19, 2008, and has become one of the premier amateur baseball destinations in America. Prasco Park has a total seating capacity of 1,250, plus standing room space. There will be no charge for admission or concessions for BIG EAST Championship fans in attendance.
 
“The BIG EAST Baseball Championship has become a great family-friendly tradition at Prasco Park. No baseball facility does a better job as the BIG EAST host site for our teams, families and fans,” said Xavier Vice President for Administration and Director of Athletics Greg Christopher. “We are honored to serve as the co-hosts with the BIG EAST and Prasco, and are excited to extend our relationship through 2028.”
 
In 2022, UConn topped Xavier in the BIG EAST Title game, 7-2, the second consecutive season the Huskies claimed the crown. Creighton (2019) and St. John’s (2018) have also raised the trophy in Mason, Ohio, since the partnership began in 2018.
