Report: New 'State of the Art' Playing Surface Installed at Alabama A&M

Alabama A&M will have a new playing surface for the 2023 season.

According to a report from Mo Carter, the Alabama A&M Bulldogs will have a new playing surface at Louis Crews Stadium since 2012.  The new turf will be "state of the art," athletic director Dr. Paul Bryant said. "Instead of having rubber pellets, we got coconut husks that keep the field cooler. Again, it's something innovative, something that hasn't been done, so we're excited about that."

The Bulldogs open the season on the road at Vanderbilt in Week 1, but will play their first home game against Lane in Week 2 on Sept. 9.
