Northland College is excited to announce Cora Zackrison as the next Head Softball Coach. Zackrison comes to Northland with a wealth of coaching experience at various levels. Her most recent collegiate experience came at the University of South Carolina - Beaufort, where she served as an assistant coach for the NAIA member Sand Sharks for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

"We could not be more excited to have Coach Zackrison join us and jump start the rebuild of LumberJill Softball," commented Director of Athletics Seamus Gregory. "Through the hiring process it was very clear that she has the ability to recruit strong student-athletes and build a successful culture for our softball program to thrive. Being a decorated DIII athlete and her connections to the upper Midwest made her the right choice to become the next leader of the softball program. This is a very positive day for the athletic department moving forward."

Before USCB, Zackrison served as a graduate assistant at the University of Jamestown in Jamestown, North Dakota. While at Jamestown she, also, served as the Champions of Character Liaison, keeping baseball and softball student-athletes up-to-date with their NAIA Champions of Character coursework that is designed to develop their leadership and character traits on and off the field. She has worked with numerous coaches through various camps, clinics and travel organizations; and is, currently, serving as the softball instructor at The Zone, an activity center based in Bluffton, South Carolina, which features state-of-the-art batting cages for training baseball and softball players.

"I am so honored and grateful to the athletic department at Northland College for this amazing opportunity to lead the LumberJill softball program," stated Zackrison. "I couldn't be more excited to get started, and I know there are big things ahead for Northland and the softball program."

Zackrison played collegiately at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. The former centerfielder was a four year starter for the Cobbers and served as the team captain her senior season.

Northland College is an NCAA Division III institution located in Ashland, WI. The LumberJacks and LumberJills sponsor 14 varsity sports and compete in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference, Midwest Lacrosse Conference and the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
