PITTSBURGH, Pa. – May 4, 2023 – Vice President of Athletics and Recreation Leonard Trevino announced that Head Softball Coach Deanna Tritinger has decided to step down from the program.
 
"I want to thank Deanna for her hard work and her success in stabilizing the program," said Trevino. "Deanna is leaving the program much stronger than it was when she inherited it. Anyone that knows Deanna knows that she genuinely cared for her student-athletes and always wanted the best for them."
 
Tritinger led the Cougars for seven seasons, amassing 60 wins in that time, 31 of which were conference contests. In the 2021 season, Tritinger helped the Cougars to their first ever PAC post-season berth, an opportunity extended only to the top six teams in the conference. This season also yielded the best finish of her Chatham career with 13 overall wins, including eight in the PAC.
 
Coach Tritinger was also responsible for bringing in 13 All-PAC awards:

All-PAC Second Team: Caitlin Worwood (2019), Marissa Wightman (2019), Lauren McNany (2021), Kayla Gee (2021), Kaitlyn Collins (2021)
All-PAC Honorable Mention: Marissa Wightman (2018), Mackenzie Dunn (2021), Paige Shaftic (2021), Lauren Haak (2022), Lauren McNany (2022), Isabelle Griswold (2022)
 
During her time at Chatham, Tritinger also served on the NCAA Division III Softball Rules Committee as a Chairwoman, helping to establish and maintain rules of play consistent with the tradition of the sport and of such character as to ensure good sportsmanship and safe participation by the competitors.
 
She was also a Regional Advisory Committee member for the Presidents' Athletic Conference from 2018-2021.
