UW Athletics Hires Jason Cappadoro As Chief Financial Officer

SEATTLE – Jason Cappadoro has been named Senior Associate Athletic Director, Chief Financial Officer for University of Washington Intercollegiate Athletics (ICA), Director of Athletics Jennifer Cohen announced today. In his role, Cappadoro will serve as part of Cohen's Executive Leadership team. 
 
"We couldn't be more excited to welcome Jason and his family to the University of Washington," said Cohen. "He impressed the interview committee with his diverse and extensive set of leadership experience, as well as his deep understanding of the collegiate athletics landscape. He has strong value alignment with UW, including his commitment to the holistic student-athlete experience, and his many strengths will be a great asset at such an important time for the financial health of our department."
 
Cappadoro joins the UW staff after having served in a similar capacity – as Senior Associate Athletic Director for Business Operations – at Fresno State, where he worked since January of 2019. At Fresno State, he oversaw all financials for the department and was also the sport administrator for the softball and equestrian teams, while serving as the secondary supervisor of the football program. In addition, he managed the equipment and ticket departments.

Before his time with the Bulldogs, Cappadoro spent more than three years (May, 2015-Dec., 2018) as Director of Finance for the University of Denver athletic department. Prior to that, he was an assistant athletic director at Stevens Institution of Technology in New Jersey, where he was in charge of the business operations while also serving as sports supervisor for the volleyball, fencing and equestrian teams and overseeing the aquatic center.
 
During his time as Assistant AD at Stevens, he was also an assistant women's lacrosse coach, holding that role for three seasons (2013-15).
 
A graduate of Stony Brook University in New York, where he was a four-year member of the mens' lacrosse team, Cappadoro earned his bachelor's degree in economics in 2006. Cappadoro went on to earn his MBA from Seton Hall in 2012. In 2008-2009, he was a stock loan trader for Lazard Capital Market and, from 2010-2012, held a similar position with ICAP Securities.
 
Cappadoro will be joined in Seattle by his wife, Molly, and sons, Quinn & Johnny.
