Scott Williams returned to the Oral Roberts University athletics department as the Senior Associate A.D. in May of 2014. He previously served for seven years (1998-2005) as the Assistant A.D. for Compliance for the Golden Eagles. In his current role, Williams will oversee the compliance operations, facilities and will oversee the men's basketball, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s track & field and men’s and women’s tennis programs.
After leaving ORU in 2005, Williams went to Oklahoma State where he was the Assistant A.D. for Compliance for one year before being promoted to Associate A.D. for Compliance. He spent three years (2006-09) in that capacity, working as the NCAA Athletic Certification Liason and was a member of the NCAA Athletic Certification Steering Committee. Williams also served as the tournament director for the 2008 NCAA Baseball Stillwater Regional and the 2009 NCAA Men’s Golf Stillwater Regional.
Most recently, Williams was the Senior Associate Athletic Director at the University of Central Oklahoma, where he spent five years (2009-14) handling the internal operations of the department. While in Edmond, Williams was in charge of budgeting, and negotiating contracts to purchase assets ranging from $100,000 to those in excess of $1,000,000. He was also in charge of facility and event management, and was the NCAA tournament director for six different NCAA regional events. In addition, Williams was the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee advisor and the co-director of the NCAA/CHAMPS life skills program.
A 1995 graduate of Oklahoma State, Williams earned his bachelor of science degree in business administration and went on to earn a Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma in 1998.
Outside of athletics, he is an active member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, has worked with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Green Country. He currently teaches Sunday School at First Baptist Church in Tulsa.
Williams is married to the former Tammy Raye Love of Laverne, Okla., and the couple has four kids; James Ray (J.R.) (10), Matthew Scott (8), Hannah Grace (7) and Luke Scott (4).
