WAUKESHA, Wis. – Carroll University's Director of Athletics Michael Schulist is excited to announce Taylor Clarke as the seventh head coach of the Carroll women's soccer program. Clarke will begin next week.

"Having the opportunity to bring in a coach of Taylor's quality and depth is a big deal for Carroll University and our women's soccer program," says Schulist. "Taylor is a proven leader of young women, and has had success in every one of his coaching stops.  I am thrilled for the future of the program, and look forward to welcoming Taylor to our Pio family."

Clarke comes to Carroll after a two-season stint at Bowling Green State University as the Associate Head Women's Soccer Coach, with his main duty serving as the recruiting coordinator. Clarke coached eight All-Mac selections, including the MAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2021 and 2022.

"First, I want to thank Athletic Director Michael Schulist, Derek Marie, and the rest of the search committee for this opportunity to lead Carroll University Women's Soccer," says Clarke. "Carroll's ethos aligns with my own and as a steward of the program, I could not be more excited to help it grow."

Clarke had also served as the Head Women's Soccer Coach at Ashland University from 2018-2021, after being the assistant coach of the program in 2014-2016. Clarke's latest Division III experience came from Calvin University, serving as the top Assistant Coach on the men's team. During his tenure at Calvin, Clarke coached three USC All-Americans, and had the #1 scoring offense in the country.

Clarke graduated with his undergraduate degree from Saginaw Valley State University in 2014, and obtained his masters at Ashland University in 2016. At SVSU, Clarke played four seasons and in 76 games for the Cardinals. Clarke scored four career goals and two assists as a defender. Clarke and the Cardinals were Division II National Runner-Ups in 2012.

"There is so much enthusiasm and support surrounding this team right now. From the moment I stepped foot on campus through every meeting I had, I could feel the energy and excitement, it felt special," says Clarke. "There is such a strong foundation that we are able to build upon. Moving forward, this program will be committed to providing its student-athletes with the best possible experience while giving them everything they need to be successful in any avenue they pursue in life. I am so eager to get started and look forward to accomplishing some big goals in the near future. Go Pios!"
