SALEM, West Virginia - As the Salem Baseball program prepares for it's final two series of the regular season, there is some exciting news on the the future of Salem Baseball to announce. Interim Head Coach Kassiday Gaines has been named Head Coach of the Tigers.

This move removes the interim tag that Gaines took on when former head coach JT Heenan departed in January for a new role with the Texas Rangers.

Gaines has been leading the Tigers effectively this season, and has shown he is the right fit for the role long term. To date, the Tigers have played very well under Gaines. They have earned an impressive 26 wins this season including a 10 game win streak that ran from the home debut on February 18th through March 8th.

The Salem University Athletic Department has been excited to see the strides Salem Baseball has made under Gaines this season, and we look forward to the future of the baseball program here at Salem.
