American Rivers Conference's Halverson and Wilson Appointed to NCAA Division III National Committees

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Deputy Commissioner Hannah Halverson and Sports Administration Assistant Ali Wilson have been selected to join sport national committees. Halverson set to join the Division III Wrestling Committee and Wilson slated to join the Division III Women’s Golf National Committee, both beginning September 2024. 
 
“It is outstanding to have the A-R-C staff represented on these national committees, “Marie Stroman, A-R-C Commissioner said. “Hannah and Ali have proven their leadership at the conference level, which I know they will use to make impactful contributions on the respective committees they’ll serve.”
 
Halverson joined the A-R-C staff in the summer of 2021 as the NCAA Women’s & Ethnic Minority Intern and served as the Assistant to the Commissioner before being elevated to Deputy Commissioner in June 2022. Since joining the A-R-C, Halverson has been actively involved with conference operations and administration as well as being involved with the 2022 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championship and 2022 and 2023 NCAA Division III Baseball Championships, as the conference served as hosts for these events. Most recently, Halverson was the Co-Tournament Director for the 2024 NCAA Division III Lower Midwest Wrestling Regional hosted by the A-R-C. She is a member of Women Leaders in Sports. 
 
Halverson earned a bachelor’s degree in management from Luther College in 2021. While at Luther, she was a four-year member of the softball program. 

Halverson will be one of six members on the Division III Wrestling Committee as she replaces Bryan Marshall from Millikin University out of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW). 
 
“I’m honored to have the opportunity to serve the student-athletes and coaches in not only the American Rivers Conference, but the entire Division III," said Halverson. "I look forward to working with the NCAA staff and committee members in serving our wrestling coaches and student-athletes for the next four years.”
 
Wilson joined the A-R-C office as the Sports Administration Assistant in the summer of 2022. With her time in the conference office, Wilson has been actively involved with all operations in the office as well as serving as the Media Relations Director of the 2023 National Collegiate Women’s Wrestling Championship (NCWWC), 2023 NCAA Division III Baseball Championships, and 2024 NCAA Division III Lower Midwest Wrestling Regional. Additionally, Wilson served as the NCAA site representative at the 2022 NCAA Football Playoff Quarterfinal game between Wartburg College and Aurora College. She was a member of the NCAA 50-year Anniversary Committee and currently serves on Division III Women's Golf Regional Advisory Committee (RAC). Wilson is a member of Women in Sports Helping Inspire the Next Generation (WISHING), Women in Sports and Events (WISE), Women Leaders in Sports, and College Sport Communicators (CSC). 
 
Wilson earned her bachelor’s degree in sport management and leadership from Lakeland University in May 2021. She went on to earn her master's degree at Lakeland in leadership and organizational development, graduating in December 2021. While at Lakeland, Wilson was a four-year member of the women’s golf program, picking up individual conference medalist honors in 2019 and leading the Muskies to a conference championship in 2021. Wilson was named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2021. Additionally, Wilson was a 2021 NCAA Woman of the Year nominee.
 
Wilson will be one of five members of the Division III Women’s Golf Committee as she replaces Mary Giorgi from St. Catherine University out of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC).
 
“It is a great honor to have the opportunity to serve on the NCAA Division III Women’s Golf Committee,” Wilson said. “As a former Division III women’s golf student-athlete, I am excited to become a voice at the national level for a sport that is special to me. I am excited to get to work and represent the coaches and student-athletes American Rivers Conference and all of the Division III membership!”

The Conference dates back to December 8, 1922, when representatives from 12 colleges got together and formed the "Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Association."
