Andrew Hoffman Hired as Ripon Head Cross Country Coach

RIPON, Wisconsin – After a national search, Andrew Hoffman has been tabbed as the next Head Cross Country and Assistant Track & Field Coach at Ripon College, announced by Director of Athletics Chris Schumacher on Wednesday.

"Drew's experiential success as an athlete and graduate assistant at two of the premier cross-country and track & field programs in the country were evident during the interview process," Schumacher said. "He has a strong vision for recruiting, team culture and student-athlete experience, and he will be ready to hit the ground running when he takes the helm of leading our distance crew. I am excited to welcome his energy and passion to Ripon College."

Hoffman previously served as a graduate assistant for perennial power North Central College in Naperville, Illinois. There, he helped coach the 2023 men's third-place team at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships and the 2022 and 2023 CCIW men's cross country champions. He also assisted on the track and field side, coaching the 2023 CCIW men's indoor and outdoor track and field champions while helping in recruiting efforts for the Cardinals.

On the individual side, he coached 10 NCAA All-American athletes during the 2022-23 and 2023-24 school years – five in cross country, two in the indoor season and three in the outdoor season.

"I am extremely honored for the opportunity to be the next Head Cross Country Coach at Ripon College," Hoffman said. "Thank you to the staff and team for bringing me into the Red Hawk Family. I also want to thank the Wartburg and North Central families for their support."

A native of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, Hoffman was a student-assistant for Wartburg College's men's cross country team from 2017-22. He recruited, trained and communicated with athletes while helping the Knights to four American Rivers Conference championships, three NCAA Regional titles and top-10 NCAA Championship finishes in 2018 (fifth place) and 2021 (ninth place).

Hoffman received his bachelor's degree in Physical Education and Coaching from Wartburg. He will receive his master's degree from North Central in May in Sports Leadership and Administration.
