Fordham Unveils Renovated Basketball Film Room

Updated space will benefit all of the Rams’ 22 varsity sports

BRONX, N.Y. – Located in the lobby of the historic Rose Hill Gym, the Fordham Basketball Film Room completed the final phases of a top-to-bottom renovation last month, allowing the men's and women's programs to fully utilize the state-of-the-art space.

"It's a truly remarkable time at Fordham thanks to the generosity of our New Era Fund donors who supported this project," said Athletic Director Ed Kull.  "The success of Fordham Basketball on and off the court is a testament to those investors and the impact their contributions have on our student-athletes. I want to give a special shoutout to Don Almeida, GABELLI '73, and Darlene Jordan, FCRH '89, for their outstanding support of Fordham Basketball. Every donor is crucial as we continue to elevate the profile of our athletics program as well as the entire University."

The chairs from the room's original construction in 2011 were replaced with 22 brand new seats complete with logos and in-seat desks from DreamSeats.  In addition, the room received new flooring and lighting while the walls and graphics were updated to reflect more modern Fordham branding.

From a technology standpoint, the room was gutted to incorporate the newest audio-visual capabilities the industry has to offer.  The focal point of the room is a 98-inch Samsung commercial grade 4K television for film breakdown and scouting.  The television was also wired into a new in-room speaker and microphone system, allowing multiple members of the coaching staff to participate in virtual meetings with crystal-clear picture and audio.

The Fordham men's and women's basketball programs are not the only teams that utilize the film room, as nearly all of the University's 22 varsity sports have used the space for occasional team meetings and events.  The film room is also a key meeting space for athletic administrators.
