Bolivar, Mo. – SBU Director of Athletics Clark Sheehy announces Andrew Percic as the next head women's soccer coach.

Percic joins the Bearcats coaching at the Division I level for the last five years. He most recently was an assistant coach for University of South Dakota women's soccer program. Percic helped lead the program to a 7-6-4 regular season finish and a spot in the conference tournament with the second highest RPI in program history.

Before becoming a Coyote, he was an assistant coach at Wofford University where he helped lead the program to its best season in 20 years. He oversaw goalkeepers, assisted with defense, set pieces, and handled different aspects of travel and recruiting. As the goalkeeper coach, he helped coach the goalkeeper to 7 shutouts on the season, leading the conference.

"First off I would like to thank Coach Sheehy and the hiring committee for putting their faith in me to lead this program. I would also like to thank Stefan for his hard work and dedication to this program and making this an easy transition for me." Percic said, "I knew early on in the process that SBU is the kind of community that I want to be a part of.  It is clear that there is a high level of care for the students and student athletes at this institution, and a good community environment. I am very grateful for the opportunity, and I am very excited to help this team compete with the best in the GLVC."

Percic was also an assistant coach at Division I University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. While there the team finished in 4th place in the Horizon League, despite being preseason ranked 9th. He also spent time at University of Illinois-Chicago, where they team finished 2nd place in the regular season (highest in team history). The team had top 20-rankings in Nation in goals against, save percentage, and shutouts.

Before jumping to the Division I level, Percic's collegiate coaching career began at Sterling College in Sterling, Kansas, in 2016. He also has experience at the high school level, serving as a assistant varsity coach and head reserve team coach at Elkhorn South High School for two years and serving as the director of goalkeeping at Elkhorn Soccer Club beginning in 2017.

"We are very excited to have coach Percic to lead our women's soccer team." Sheehy said, "Through the interview process it became evident that he a strong desire for helping athletes develop in their abilities on and off the field as well as strengthen their faith.  He brings great experience to our team, and we are thrilled that he is our new coach!  It's a great day to be a Bearcat!!"
