Jasmine Porter to lead Trinity Women's Basketball

PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – Trinity Christian College and Director of Athletics Wendy Reid have announced Jasmine Porter will become the 15th head coach of the Trinity Women's Basketball program.

Porter served for the past two seasons as assistant coach at Park University Gilbert (Ariz.), where she was responsible for player development and was the coaching staff's recruiting coordinator. Last season with Porter on staff, the Buccaneers matched the program's record win total and reached the semifinals of the Cal Pac Conference Tournament.

Prior to her time at Park, Porter was an assistant coach with Montana Tech, and worked to develop conditioning programs, scouting reports, and mentored student-athletes in their academic efforts.

"Jasmine is going to be a great addition to our coaching staff," said Reid. "She has a real passion for serving her student-athletes, both on the court by developing our players' basketball skillset, and off the court with their academic performance and personal relationships. I'm excited to start working with Jasmine and having her join the Trinity Athletics family."

Porter is a graduate of Utah State, where she played from 2013-15 after her first two seasons at San Diego State. As a member of the Aztecs, Porter played for two seasons on teams that won a combined 55 games and earned an 11-seed in the 2011 NCAA Tournament.

What they're saying about Jasmine Porter:

"Coach Porter is a great hire for Trinity; she comes from a strong basketball family and is a great up-and-coming young coach.  As a former high-level player, she will also be a great mentor both on and off the court to the young ladies in the Trolls' program." – Jeff Fore • Director of Athletics, Missouri Baptist

"I'm very excited for Jasmine, it was an honor to coach alongside her. Picking her brain and learning the game from her during my first year was an amazing experience to have. With her knowledge, I can only see good things coming out of the program. She loves this game and is very passionate about it; the Trinity program is in great hands!" – Danae Ruiz • Former Assistant Coach, Park-Gilbert (Ariz.)
