Women's Soccer Coach Ryan Quamme Announces Resignation

University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer head coach Ryan Quamme has announced his resignation after 11 seasons at the helm for the Warhawks.

"My family and I are forever grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and Warhawk Soccer the last fifteen years," said Coach Quamme. "I'm extremely proud of the many achievements on and off the field by our student-athletes and will cherish all the memories and friendships made over the years. Thank you to all of the student-athletes, coaches, administrators, families, alumni and fans for your continued support of Warhawk Soccer. Once A Warhawk, Always A Warhawk!"

Quamme led the Warhawk women's soccer program to five Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles, five WIAC tournament championships and seven NCAA tournament appearances including a trip to the quarterfinals in 2015. The five-time WIAC Coach of the Year became UW-Whitewater's all-time leader in coaching wins following a 2-0 victory over UW-Platteville on October 23, 2019 that tallied his 127th win to surpass former head coach and UWW Hall of Famer Greg Henschel.

Quamme boasted the 15th best career coaching win-percentage, 73.9%, in Division III women's soccer entering the fall 2022 campaign. He compiled an overall record of 155-49-17 in ten seasons of competition. Quamme's programs broke the school wins record five times in five consecutive seasons from 2012 to 2016. During his tenure, Quamme coached student-athletes to more than 50 all-conference, 25 all-region and six All-American honors. He led eight WIAC Players of the Year, one Newcomer of the Year and the league's first-ever Goalkeeper of the Year in Jude Dobrinska (Milwaukee, Wis./Ronald Reagan College Prep) this season.

Pushing for excellence both on and off the field, Quamme mentored student-athletes to 10 scholar All-America awards while eight of his seniors garnered WIAC Judy Kruckman Scholar Athlete of the Year honors.

"Ryan Quamme is a phenomenal coach and a great person," said Athletic Director Ryan Callahan. "I am personally grateful for my time working with him over the past ten years. Whenever he had to make a decision, the student-athlete was always the most important factor. The program, department and University are forever grateful for his time here on campus. I wish Ryan, Kate, Beckham, and Nolan nothing but the best as they embark on their next chapter."
