ELKINS, W. Va. - Head women's soccer coach, Alberto "Kiko" Magaña, has announced he is resigning from the position, effective immediately.
Magaña has spent two seasons at the helm for the D&E women's soccer team. He finishes out his tenure with an overall record of 11-22-3 and 9-19-3 in Mountain East Conference play.
During his tenure, Magaña coached four all-conference players and the Freshman Player of the Year in 2022. The 2022 team that finished 9-8-1 overall and 8-7-1 in the Mountain East Conference and was the first since 2015 to finish above .500.
"We appreciate all that Kiko did for D&E women's soccer. He has left the program in a strong position with a foundation for future success," said Jeff Eisen, D&E Interim Director of Athletics.
A national search for Magaña's replacement will begin immediately.
