SUNY Canton’s Fourth Athletics Giving Week an Overwhelming Success

2024 ATHLETICS GIVING WEEK RESULTS

Canton, NY – SUNY Canton Athletics raised over $144,000 with almost 1,200 total gifts contributed to its fourth annual Athletics Giving Week. This campaign, which was led by the Canton College Foundation, recently concluded March 29th and was a resounding success.
 
SUNY Canton's fourth Athletics Giving Week resulted in 1,114 donations and $144,135 raised for the Athletics department and its teams. SUNY Canton would like to personally thank all its donors who made this fourth Athletics Giving Week more exciting and successful than anyone expected.


"I'm proud of our student-athletes who dedicated themselves to Athletics Giving Week and were key in making it a success," Assistant Director of Development Sara Hartman-Richards '01 said. "This year the collected efforts resulted in the largest amount of funds raised during Athletics Giving Week of all time, which will make an incredible difference for years to come."

"For the fourth straight year, we've been amazed at the incredible support for the SUNY Canton Athletics Giving Week," Director of Athletics Randy B. Sieminski said. "I'm particularly proud of the amazing generosity and support from our own student-athletes and their families supporting themselves and each other in order to maximize their college experiences. So many fantastic alumni, friends, supporters, community members and local businesses once again came together to support our teams and our student-athletes. We can't thank them enough."
 
The women's basketball team had the most total gifts with 360, improving their total from 2023 by over 200 gifts. Women's hockey was second with 212 donations, while men's hockey (132), women's lacrosse (82) and men's soccer (70) rounded out the top five.   
 
The top five for total dollars raised include men's hockey ($89,477), women's basketball ($11,547), women's hockey ($11,278), men's soccer ($7,655) and the athletics general fund ($5,960).
 
This year our student-athletes really stepped up with their peer-to-peer challenges. Below we would like to recognize our top 10 overall student-athlete fundraisers by both money raised and number of donations.
