CASTINE, Maine – Dan McNeely was introduced as Maine Maritime Academy's new Head Men's Golf Coach on Wednesday by Director of Athletics, Steve Peed. McNeely will take the helm from Noah Tapley, who will remain on with the program as an assistant coach.

"This is an outstanding opportunity to grow our golf program combining Coach McNeely's recruiting and administrative abilities with Coach Tapley's golf instruction," said Peed. "Having a head coach that is available to our students on a full-time basis will only serve to improve our golfer's experience."

McNeely just completed his seventh season as the Head Men's Basketball Coach and was the North Atlantic Conference's Coach of the Year following the 2018-2019 season. He has recruited several outstanding student-athletes, including Curt Heinz, the NAC Defensive Player of the Year and DIII's top rebounder.

Tapley, who has been the Mariners' coach in a part-time capacity for the past decade led the Mariners to some of the program's best years with fourth place finishes at the NAC Championships in 2014, 2015 and 2017. He has coached a dozen All-NAC Golfers and two NAC Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award recipients.
