St. Norbert Adds ACHA Hockey, STUNT To Sports Offerings

STUNT/ACHA Hockey WelcomeDE PERE – St. Norbert College will add STUNT and ACHA Division 2 men's ice hockey as intercollegiate sports for the 2025-26 school year, athletics director Cam Fuller announced today.

The sport additions are part of an overall athletics optimization strategy as part of an enrollment growth incentive campus wide.

One of the fastest growing sports for women nationally, STUNT is an emerging NCAA sport that features scored head-to-head contests between two teams that execute skills-based routines in various categories – partner stunts, jumps and tumbling, pyramids and tosses, and team routines. Fellow Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference members Concordia University Chicago and Dominican University is or will be sponsoring STUNT as an intercollegiate program.

ACHA Division 2 men's hockey competes as an intercollegiate club sport. Fellow Northern Collegiate Hockey Association members Marian University, Concordia University Wisconsin, Milwaukee School of Engineering, Aurora University, Trine University and Adrian College also have ACHA Division 2 men's hockey programs. St. Norbert will be a member of the Northern Collegiate Hockey League.

"Students who get involved succeed," said St. Norbert College President Laurie Joyner, Ph.D. "With nearly a third of our Dean's List honorees being student-athletes, we cheer for their success in the classroom and on the playing field."

STUNT is contested in late winter, with a season spanning February and March. St. Norbert will be the first school in Wisconsin to add STUNT as a varsity sport. ACHA hockey, which will operate out of the Cornerstone Community Center, competes from late September into February.

"We are always looking for ways athletics can drive success on campus and we are thrilled to add STUNT and intercollegiate club hockey," Fuller said. "STUNT is one of the fastest growing female sports and we are excited to be the first college in the state to offer this opportunity. ACHA Division 2 men's hockey adds to our robust intercollegiate hockey offerings."

The process of hiring full-time coaches who will supervise both programs is underway, Fuller said.
