DeKruif Named Next Bethany Men's and Women's Golf Coach

MANKATO, Minn. – Bethany Lutheran College (BLC) announced today that Mitch DeKruif has been named the next Vikings men's and women's head golf coach.

"I'm excited to be a part of the BLC community and the golf program here," said DeKruif. "There is a lot of good momentum with the college and the program, so I'm looking forward to leading these teams."

DeKruif comes to Bethany with a wide array of experience in the world of golf, working multiple positions at a pair of prestigious golf courses in the Western United States. He first worked at the Broadmoor Golf Club in Colorado Springs, Colorado, supervising the golf shop as well as teaching golf lessons to members. Following his time at Broadmoor, he gained membership to the PGA of America while also obtaining a degree in PGA Golf Management from the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV).

While working through courses at UNLV, DeKruif began his time as Golf Operations Caddie at The Wynn in Las Vegas, Nevada. While there, he was named 2020 Employee of the Year at the Course, as a leading member of the team that helped re-open following the COVID shutdown.

"We're excited to welcome Mitch and his family to the Bethany community," said Co-Athletic Director Pat Garvin. "He will be a great addition to our Athletic Department, and we can't wait to see his teams take to the course, but also the influence he will have on our student-athletes."
