Flashes Extend Kyle DeSandes-Moyer Through 2026 Season

KENT, Ohio - Kent State Field Hockey coach Kyle DeSandes-Moyer has signed a contract extension through the 2026 season. The decision was announced by Director of Athletics Randale L. Richmond.

"I am thrilled to announce the extension of Coach DeSandes-Moyer's contract," Richmond said. "She has continued the winning tradition of Golden Flashes' field hockey and even though she's had early success, she has demonstrated a steadfast desire for continuous growth.  Looking forward to her leading our program in a tremendous fashion both on and off the field."

The 2019 MAC Coach of the Year, DeSandes-Moyer has gone 42-28 in her four seasons with the Golden Flashes including a sterling 26-6 record against Mid-American Conference opponents. Kent State has claimed at least a share of the Mid-American Conference regular-season crown in three of her four seasons.

"I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to continue to lead Kent State Field Hockey and be a part of this athletic department," Coach DeSandes-Moyer said.  "I'm very proud of what we've accomplished in the past four years, and I can't wait to see what's next our program!"

Kent State has notched victories over No. 24 Maine in 2019 and at No. 14 Syracuse and No. 22 Ohio State in 2021 under DeSandes-Moyer's leadership, the first victories over a top-25 team since 2017.

Kent State student-athletes have been widely recognized during DeSandes-Moyer's tenure. Eleven players have been named first-team All-Conference, including two Defensive Players of the Year and one Newcomer of the Year. Six players have earned All-Region honors. The Flashes have excelled in the classroom as well with multiple student-athletes being named to the National Academic Squad and earning the Mid-American Conference's Distinguished Scholar-Athlete distinction.
